Digital Correction
About 10 years ago, when digital photography was first becoming popular, I swore I would always use film. I felt that digital could never compare. About two years ago, I got my first DSLR and since then I've been converted. One of the things I love about digital is Photoshop. (Granted I could scan in my film negatives and use Photoshop as well.)
In the first image, there is a hair across my my daughter's face. At first I thought it was my screen. Then I realized one of my hairs must have actually fallen on her when I took the picture. In a way, I feel that is sweet and didn't want to correct it but if this was a client's portrait I'm sure they wouldn't want a hair across it.
The next image is with the hair removed. I really love the portrait and with only about 10 minutes time it looks worlds better.

Nice blog, Jessica. Good luck with your photography business. You may want to open an account on Flickr. I have found both excellent amatuer and professional photographers on Flickr. I use quite a few images (with permsission) from this site on my blog at www.wordtraveler.org.
I love your family. Say "Hi" to Danny and MacKenzie!
